not to be dramatic but prince zuko’s redemption arc is the greatest storyline in all of literary history

it really is!!!! especially because 

1) he is always held accountable for his bad actions in the past and is not excused out of pity for his (admittedly terrible) situation growing up, but at the same time is repeatedly shown kindness and support by iroh

2) forgiving those who abused him is never made a requirement for his  redemption. in fact, in the end zuko bravely confronts his abusers and calls them out for what they did.

this stuff is huge! especially for a show that kids loved and adored!
